Our Story

"It all began in sunny Newcastle, where I was finishing university and dreaming of becoming a doctor. Jack was juggling personal training and bar management, his charm impossible to miss. Fate brought us together, and that spark quickly grew into something truly special.

"I soon moved for medical training, but distance didn’t matter—our shared love for games, anime, and long late-night conversations kept us close.

"Just before the pandemic, we moved in together. Lockdown was tough, but we found joy in the small things (especially Jack’s cooking, which I insist was the highlight). Moving to a new city during lockdown was no easy feat, but we did it. Together.

"We settled in Leeds, bought our first home, and Jack began an exciting role as a senior UI/UX designer. We met new friends, reconnected with old ones, and continued to build a life filled with laughter and love.

"Seven years after we first met, Jack asked me to watch the sunset from a quiet hill near home. With a torn Achilles and a heart full of nerves, he couldn’t kneel—but that didn’t matter. I said yes.

"Our journey has been shaped and supported by the incredible love of our friends and family. We can’t wait to celebrate with you all and create even more memories together on our wedding day!"

"We were never meant to be a serious relationship. When we met Ray only had 6 weeks left in Newcastle, and we both assumed that her moving away would be a natural end.

"Still, we figured we'd enjoy each other's company while it lasted!

"That was over 8 years ago... The rest - as they say - is history. We've watched each other tackle new jobs & career changes, deal with both joy and grief, and become - I daresay - better, more stable and happier people than we were beforehand.

"Despite many challenges, we've emerged from each issue or setback feeling more robust than ever. Whenever one of us was distressed, we sat down and worked through every emotion, every thought, and every decision, one step at a time.

"At every stage of our relationship I've been welcomed with open arms by all of Ray's friends and family, and my own friends and family have been eternally supportive of us and our relationship.

"It's hard to comprehend how lucky I am."
